NBF attorney Pegeen Mulhern is chair of the committee organizing the Kitsap Peninsula Out of the Darkness Community Walk. This fund- and awareness-raising walk supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is one of 375 community walks around the country. In addition to the 2.4 Mile walk (which starts and ends at the Bainbridge Island High School), a variety of community organizations will have booths set up to answer questions and provide resources to all. The work of NBF attorneys Chris Nicoll and Noah Jaffe as amicus brief writers for the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers proved instrumental in achieving a favorable result on the issue of personal jurisdiction over a component manufacturer in Noll v. Am. Biltrite, Inc., 188 Wn.2d 402, 395 P.3d 1021 (2017). Chris Nicoll and Noah Jaffe’s amicus brief on behalf of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Association was also successful in Swank v. Valley Christian Sch., 188 Wn.2d 663, 398 P.3d 1108 (2017).

NBF attorneys Noah Jaffe and Chris Reilly received word that Division I of the Washington State Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s decision in the matter of OSG Ship Management, Inc. v. Sisto Andrew. The case involved the enforcement of a settlement agreement “no sail” provision through arbitration.
