MIAS is comprised of marine underwriters, claims professionals, surveyors, attorneys, and others who participate in the marine insurance market. Our many recreational vessel owning clients may be interested to know that the U.S. Coast Guard is now offering recreational vessel owners an opportunity to renew their certificate of documentation for more than one year at a time. Instructions are posted on the NVDC website.

November 9th, 2018

On November 9, 2018, NBF attorney Nina Mitchell moderated a panel discussion at the Longshore Claims Association’s fall lunch meeting at Ivar’s Salmon House on Lake Union. The panel included a Professor of Psychiatry and a Quality Assurance Manager from a company that contracts with forensic medical experts.  The panelists and Ms. Mitchell discussed best practices for working with medical experts.
